Chris Feliciano Arnold is the author ofThe Third Bank of the River: Power and Survival in the Twenty-First Century Amazon, "a sweeping look at the war over the Amazon-as activists, locals, and indigenous tribes struggle to save it from the threat of loggers, drug lords, and corrupt cops and politicians."

The recipient of a creative writing fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, he has published fiction inPlayboy,The Kenyon Review,Ecotoneand other magazines. Along the way, his work has been noted inThe Best American Sports WritingandThe Best American Short Stories. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where he is Director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Saint Mary’s College of California.
