Fostering Connection through Design with Architect Zuzana Kubisova


ZuzanaKubisovais an architectural designer at JKURTZ Architects in Cleveland and an adjunct faculty member at Kent State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design. She came to America in 2015 to pursue a career as a creative designer and architect. With an undergraduate degree in Product Design in Czech Republic, an MFA in Visual Communication Design, and a Master of Architecture from KSU, her work bridges architectural practice, teaching, and visual arts. She is the author of The Architect’s Pocket Guide to Portfolio Design (Routledge, 2023) and has collaborated with cultural institutions such as the Wick Poetry Center, where she was a devoted illustrator for several years. Guided by design, art, and kind people, her goal is to create work that fosters connection, opens new meanings, and shapes spaces that dignify and strengthen individuals as well as communities.
