Dr. Mehrenegar Rostami is an ethnomusicologist based at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, having received her PhD in ethnomusicology from UCLA. She has conducted extensive fieldwork research on international music festivals in Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Austria, Germany, and the United States. Her translational essays have appeared in Mahname Honar-e Musiqi (The Art of Music) and she has also served as a reviews editor ofEthnomusicology Review. As a santur (hammered dulcimer) player, she has performed in Iranian, European, and North American music scenes.
