Lakeland Community College has been honored with the 2026 Showcase Award by the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes the college’s recent comprehensive renovation of its Engineering Building (E-Building), highlighting excellence in facility improvement and community impact.

The Showcase Award is presented annually to an organization or business whose property serves as a “showcase” for Western Lake County through an initiative that improves the community in an impactful way. Specifically, the E-Building project modernized instructional spaces, upgraded technology, and created new student-centered areas designed to foster collaborative learning.

"We are deeply honored to receive the Showcase Award from our partners at the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce," said Sunil Ahuja, Ph.D., President of Lakeland Community College. "The renovation of the E-Building is more than a construction project; it is an investment in the success of our students and a testament to Lakeland’s role as a cornerstone of growth in our community. This recognition affirms our commitment to providing a premier learning environment that meets the needs of our current workforce."

The E-Building transformation is part of Lakeland’s broader efforts to enhance the campus experience and maintain its status as a top-tier institution for higher education and vocational training in Northeast Ohio.
