Lakeland Community College announces its 2026 Spring concert schedule featuring six civic music ensembles from February through May at the Dr. Wayne D. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center (PAC) in the D-Building.

The Spring season opens with the Lakeland Civic Band performing "Americana" Feb. 22 at 4 p.m., directed by Frank Cosenza. This concert is part of Lakeland's America 250 celebration, commemorating the nation's 250th anniversary. On March 1 at 4 p.m., the Civic Orchestra, directed by Dr. Matthew Saunders, presents "She's Not There," with a free concert preview scheduled for Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Willowick Public Library.

March features the annual Lakeland Jazz Festival across two days: On March 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., local high school and middle school jazz ensembles perform for adjudication in "Serving the Schools." The festival concludes March 8 at 4 p.m. with "Big Band Spectacular," featuring the Lakeland Civic Jazz Orchestra (Jazz Impact) under the direction of Ed Michaels and Demetrius Steinmetz.

April continues the America 250 celebration with two themed concerts: The Civic Chorus, conducted by Ben Richard, performs "Across the Wide Missouri" on April 12 at 4 p.m. The Civic Band returns April 19 at 4 p.m. with "The Hounds of Spring," directed by Cosenza. On April 26 at 4 p.m., the Civic Orchestra presents "An American Ode," the third America 250 concert, with a preview scheduled for April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Willoughby Public Library.

The season concludes in May with two performances: The Civic Flute Choir, directed by Judith Elias, performs "Enchanted Flutes" on May 1 at 7 p.m. The finale features Jazz Impact and the Civic Jazz Orchestra in "Swing into Spring" on May 3 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at lakelandcc.edu/arts, the Cashier's Office, or at the PAC Box Office one hour prior to concerts. General admission is $10, with discounted rates of $8 for alumni, seniors and veterans. Students with ID pay $2, and Lakeland staff receive one free ticket.

Lakeland's six civic music ensembles welcome community members through audition, with five offering college credit. Typically, two years of high school experience on an instrument or voice suffices for participation. Prospective musicians should prepare to sight-read and perform a piece showcasing their skills. Auditions are by appointment. To schedule, contact Matt Saunders at 440-525-7105 ormsaunders4@lakelandcc.edu.
