Lakeland Announces 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees

The Lakeland Community College Alumni and Friends Network recently announced the class of 2025 Lakeland Alumni Hall of Fame inductees. This year's class includes three Lakeland alumni: Dyan Denmeade, MSN, RN, APRN-CNP '15, Lisa M. Latz '99 and Kenneth J. Winter '08. They will be recognized in a combined ceremony with the class of 24’ inductees, Lori Ann Reigert ’97 and Anthony Stachnik, MBA, BSN, RN, CCRN ’03, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.

Dyan Denmeade earned her associate degree in nursing from Lakeland in 2015 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 2017 and her master's degree from Walden University in 2020. She currently serves as a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner with Renal Services of Toledo and volunteers as a nurse practitioner at the Community of Hope Free Health Clinic in Toledo, where she has served since 2020. Ms. Denmeade is an active leader with the Lake County NAACP, where she received the Dr. William J. Rucker Award in 2021 and currently chairs the Community Health Committee.


Lisa M. Latz dedicated 30 years of service to Lakeland Community College as a member of the Lakeland Police Department, retiring in 2025 as Interim Police Chief. She completed the Ohio Basic Police Academy in 1994 and earned her Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Lakeland in 1999. Deeply committed to community engagement, Ms. Latz organized and participated in numerous campus events, including Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. She established the Todd W. Latz Criminal Justice Memorial Endowed Scholarship with The Lakeland Foundation in honor of her late husband, supporting students in Lakeland's Criminal Justice Program and Basic Police Academy. As a certified R.A.D. instructor, she empowered students and community members through self-defense training.


Kenneth J. Winter earned his Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science from Lakeland in 2014 and completed advanced training at Auburn Career Center, earning his Firefighter 240 certification in 1998 and Paramedic certification in 1999. He dedicated 25 years of service to the City of Mentor Fire Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant/Paramedic in 2015 and retiring in 2025. Mr. Winter has also served since 2013 as Emergency Management Officer for Lake Health/University Hospitals and is affiliated with the Lake County Hazmat Team and Urban Search and Rescue Ohio Regional 2 Team. Throughout his career, he has coordinated fundraising efforts for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, helping to raise more than $160,000 to support families in need.


Established in 2006, the Lakeland Alumni Hall of Fame demonstrates how Lakeland Community College has enriched thousands of lives for more than 55 years. The hall of fame honors alumni who personify Lakeland's ideals and tradition of excellence, bring distinction to their alma mater through their outstanding achievements, have made an impact on the quality of life of their communities and who serve as an inspiration to current Lakeland students.


"Being able to acknowledge a group of distinguished alumni every year is a great honor," shares Mike Thomas, alumni representative for The Lakeland Foundation Board of Directors. "There are countless examples of our alumni making a positive impact. The Alumni Hall of Fame is a wonderful way to recognize them, keep them engaged with Lakeland and impact future generations of Lakeland students."

Previously inducted members of the Lakeland Hall of Fame established the Alumni Hall of Fame Scholarship. To date, more than $23,000 has been raised for the scholarship to help Lakeland students achieve their academic goals.
