The class of 2025 from Lakeland's medical assisting program.
Lakeland Community College is proud to announce a significant milestone for its medical assisting program as 14 students recently graduated in June. This marks the largest single cohort to complete the program since its inception in 1999.
The medical assisting program set a previous record for highest enrollment during the 2010-2011 academic year with 16 students, 13 of whom completed the program. Surpassing that number in graduates this year reflects the program's expansion and its continued success in retaining and supporting students through to completion.
"We are incredibly proud of our 14 graduates," said Denise Lash, director of medical assisting at Lakeland. "This is a significant accomplishment and truly reflects our ongoing efforts in student engagement, retention, and program excellence. Seeing our largest cohort ever succeed is a testament to the dedication of our students and the unwavering support provided by our college community."
Looking ahead to the Fall 2025 semester, the medical assisting program is already experiencing robust interest, with 22 students accepted into the program and 21 currently registered for fall courses.
