Lakeland members of Phi Theta Kappa at Ohio Regional Awards Ceremony.
Lakeland Community College's Phi Theta Kappa honor society chapter, Alpha Psi Rho, garnered several prestigious awards at the recent Ohio Regional Awards Ceremony, highlighting the organization's exceptional achievement and impact.
Lakeland’s regional honors included the Most Distinguished Officer Team, Most Distinguished Advising Team, Regional Reach Award, Honors in Action Hosting Award, and the Five Star Chapter Award for the 14th year in a row. Additionally, the chapter was named fourth runner-up for Most Distinguished Chapter and member Julia Monaco was awarded the Buckeye Scholarship. On the national stage, Lakeland was also recognized as the Most Distinguished Officer Team.
"Our students continue to demonstrate extraordinary leadership and commitment to academic excellence," said Dr. Andrea Musial, chapter advisor at Lakeland. "These awards reflect the hard work and dedication of our entire team."
The Lakeland officer team includes Julia Monaco, Anayiah Brown, Austin Stroka, April Hubbard, and Devney Rich. The Lakeland advising team consists of Dr. Matthew Hiner, Dr. Andie Musial, and professor James Dailey.
During the conference, chapter members had the unique opportunity to meet Katie Spotz, a Lakeland Community College alumna and world record holder, and NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Harold CarMichael, adding to the event's inspirational atmosphere.
