Test drive college classes at Lakeland's Explore and Discover Day

Lakeland Community College will host its "Explore and Discover Lakeland Day" on Saturday, March 29, offering prospective students a chance to sample college courses at no cost.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beginning in the A-Building, room A-2100. Participants can select up to three 45-minute classes taught by Lakeland faculty across a variety of disciplines including accounting, business, criminal justice, engineering, and information technology.

"This innovative approach allows prospective students to experience our quality instruction firsthand before making any commitments," said Ryan Hamilton, dean for IT&CS & engineering technologies at Lakeland. "We've designed these sessions to showcase the personalized learning environment that makes Lakeland such a valuable stepping stone for career advancement and academic growth."

Course offerings include "Unlocking the Power of Excel: A Beginner's Guide to the Benefits of Spreadsheets," "Python for Beginners," "September 11, 2001: Working at Ground Zero," "How to Catch a Serial Killer," "Bursting the Filter Bubble," "Building Your Toolbox: Developing Essential Soft Skills for Professional Success," "What is Quality Management all about?," "Basic Electrical Circuiting," "Financial Planning," "Trade and Tariffs," and "Data Analytics for Everyone."
