Where do you go when home’s not safe? Domestic violence is a serious, far-reaching issue with the power to affect women and men of all ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic status. With October recognized as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, campus police are proud to welcome representatives from Forbes House to speak during their next Coffee with the Cops session, Wednesday, Oct. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. in Room A-2100 (CLI).
Forbes House is an organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families to end the cycle of domestic abuse, because limited resources should never be a barrier for anyone to overcome the challenges posed by intimate partner violence.
This event is free and open to all; no registration is necessary. Coffee, snacks and light refreshments will be served.
If you or someone you know may be a victim of domestic violence, you are not alone. Visit the Forbes House website for more information. Lakeland’s Police Department can also be reached via phone (440.525.7241) or email (police@lakelandcc.edu) at any time.
