Lake County Fall College Fair is hosted annually at Lakeland

- Lakeland Community College and Lake Erie College are partnering to sponsor the Lake County Fall College Fair Sunday, Oct. 8, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in theAthletic and Fitness Center on Lakeland Community College's campus in Kirtland.

This annual event is free and open to the public. Students are offered the opportunity to speak with representatives from participating schools and ask questions regarding programs offered at that particular college or university. You can view the list of schools registered to participate on Lakeland’s website.

“We are happy to host a number of colleges and universities to give local students and their families the opportunity to visit with these institutions and learn what they have to offer,” shared Kristina Willey, senior director for student recruitment and Lakeland’s Holden University Center. “There will be over 55 schools from five states represented at this year’s fair. Ranging from small private colleges to large public universities. If you aren’t sure what you are looking for yet in your next step, a fair like this is a good place to start.”

Lakeland suggests students prepare a few things before attending the college fair:

1. Review the list of attending schoolsto narrow it down.
2. Prepare a list of questionsthat will help you with your decision:
   • What are the most popular majors?
   • How much is tuition?
   • Are scholarships available?
   • What is the ratio of professors to students?
   • What are the student housing options?
   • What is student life like during the week? During the weekend?
3. Pre-print address labelsthat include your name, address, telephone number, high school, and graduation year to stick on request for information cards to eliminate having to re-write your name and address at every table you visit.

There is no charge or prior registration necessary for students and families to attend.
