The Lakeland Community College Dental Hygiene Clinic offers preventative dental hygiene services at the college’s state-of-the-art dental clinic. Appointment scheduling is now open to members of the public. The dental hygiene clinic is located on the ground floor of H-Building on Lakeland’s campus at 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, 44094.
Comprising a team of skilled dental hygiene students, supervised by licensed dentists and dental hygiene faculty, the clinic provides patients with high-quality and professional care. The services offered include an extensive range of treatments, including oral exams, periodontal examinations, prophylaxis (cleaning), essential X-rays, fluoride treatments and comprehensive dental health education.
The clinic will be open for appointments starting Sept. 5 through Nov. 22, and will be open for appointments again during spring 2024 semester. As a teaching facility, Lakeland’s appointments may take 3-4 hours to ensure thorough and meticulous treatment. Depending on the individual patient’s requirements, multiple appointments might be necessary to achieve complete and satisfactory care.
All new clinic patients must undergo a phone screening before being scheduled for any appointments. Fees for the appointment(s) cover the treatment material. Patients age 17 and younger and senior citizens 60+, $20; age 18-59, $25. Lakeland students, $20.

ABOUT LAKELAND’S DENTAL HYGIENE CLINIC
As part of their requirements for graduation, students need to perform services on patients in the dental hygiene clinic. The clinic is open to interested adults and children in the community. Appointments must be made in advance. The services will be performed by a dental hygiene student under the supervision of licensed dentists and dental hygiene faculty. Services performed are limited to preventive treatment. Preventive treatment can include: an oral examination, oral cancer screening, oral prophylaxis (scaling and polishing the teeth), oral healtheducation, nutritional counseling, necessary radiographs (x-rays referred to your dentist upon request), home care kit, cleaning of dentures, fluoride treatment, dental sealants, blood pressure screening, athletic mouthguards, periodontal examination and intra-oral photos.
