Lakeland Community College was recently ranked the #2 community college in Ohio, according to WalletHub's 2023 Best & Worst Community Colleges rankings.
According to Wallethub, 668 schools nationwide were evaluated based on three key dimensions, including: Cost & Financing, Education Outcomes and Career Outcomes. Within each of the three dimensions were 19 specific metrics such as: tuition and fees, average amount of financial aid, school spending efficiency, graduation and retention rates, student-faculty ratio and median salary after attending. Each school’s overall score was determined by the weighted average across all metrics.
Fifteen of Ohio’s 23 community colleges were included in Wallethub’s sample. Lakeland scored 52.1 overall, second to only Northwest State Community College (52.44) in the state of Ohio.
“We are proud to be ranked among the top community colleges in Ohio. The categories measured truly reflect the goals that we work to achieve every day here at Lakeland,” shared Lakeland president Dr. Morris W. Beverage Jr. “Our efforts to provide a high quality, affordable education that prepares our students for a career and life after Lakeland are positively reflected by our ranking.”
