Lakeland wishes Steve Dolan Good Luck at Nationals!

Lakeland freshman Steve Dolan (Riverside HS) qualified as an individual to advance to the NJCAA National Tournament in Plymouth, Indiana.

At the regional tournament in Battle Creek, MI, he shot a total round of 228 with rounds of 79, 79 and 70. In the entire tournament, there were only two scores under par with Dolan getting one of them.

Under pressure, he held his composure to shoot his all-time low in tournament competition. Dolan is the first Lakeland golfer to qualify for nationals in 10 years. With his score of 228, he also qualified for the All-Region Team.

As a team, the Lakers shot 324, 308, and 300. The 300 is the best team score at regionals in Coach Cala's tenure.

The scores allowed the Lakers to finish in second place on the final day behind Owens Community College and 4th overall.

The 4th place team finish is also the best the Lakers have shot in under Coach Cala.

The National Tournament will be held at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, IN from May 24-27. It is a 72-hole, stroke play event.
