Going, going, going - gone! The Gallery at Lakeland hosts benefit auction as part of skeleton-themed exhibition

Posted: October 18, 2019

As if the return of the fan-favorite skeleton show wasn’t enough of a treat, now skull lovers can purchase a piece of art for themselves. “The Skull and Skeleton in Art VI: Folk Art to Pop Culture” exhibition is now up in The Gallery at Lakeland, and as an extension of the show, the gallery ishosting an auction of decorated skulls to raise funds for future gallery programs.

Up for bidding are 28 ceramic skulls and one digital print on aluminum that were decorated by 27 noted local and regional artists, who contributed their talents to donate an amazing array of bony artwork. Interested parties can view the skulls in the gallery located on the first floor of the D-Building on Lakeland’s campus, at 7700 Clocktower Dr., Kirtland, Ohio, 44094. They can also view the art pieces online at https://lakelandcc.edu/web/about/gallery-auction, where they will also find the links to place a bid. The bidding will end at 7 p.m. Nov. 3, 2019.

All gallery shows are free and open to the public.
