A veterans memorial fund has been established to provide resources for a veterans memorial on Lakeland’s campus.
Members of the Student Veterans of America chapter at Lakeland are driving the initiative.
The memorial will include a section of bricks which can be engraved with the name of a person any donor may wish to remember. Bricks are available for a minimum donation of $100 and will include three lines maximum with 20 characters per line.
All Lakeland employees and students are invited to attend the dedication ceremony Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 12:30 p.m. outside the entrance to the athletic and fitness center. It will feature a flag display and a helmet, rifle and boots forming a battle cross. The ceremony will also include a 21-gun salute.
To make a donation to the fund, download the form using the link below, fill it out and mail with a check made payable to “The Lakeland Foundation” referencing the Lakeland Veterans Memorial Fund to:
