New service for area nonprofits

The Lakeland Nonprofit and Public Service Center now provides free access to some of the top tools to help nonprofits with research, collaboration and training through Candid.

Candid.org is the result of the merger between The Foundation Center and GuideStar, two of the most highly regarded, and utilized, resources by nonprofits.

Two of the most popular tools include:

  • Foundation Directory Online (FDO) Professional

The FDO professional database is Candid's premier fundraising tool that gives grant-seekers unprecedented access to the largest amount of clean and coded philanthropic data that currently exists. It combines exhaustive data with intuitive search functionality and informative data visualizations to make fundraising quick and efficient.
  • Grants to Individuals

This database connects foundations with individuals, such as students or entrepreneurs, who are not affiliated with a nonprofit. Users will find detailed information on more than 10,000 foundations that give grants or scholarships to individuals. NEW: The application makes requests for proposals easy to find, right on its homepage.

Access to the FDO Professional and Grants to Individuals databases is available on Lakeland’s campus only in the Lakeland Computer Lab in room A-1046. Directions to the computer lab location and summer hours can be found here.

A nonprofessional version of FDO is available for remote access. To sign up, click the link below.

Before signing up, please view the helpful hints to make the most of the 24-hour limit.

Contact the Lakeland Nonprofit Center team at nonprofitcenter@lakelandcc.edu for additional assistance or any questions.
