To bolster communication skills, this presentation will cover how to craft professional messages; identifying important contexts that inform professional communication; share strategies for providing positive and negative feedback; explore honing listening skills; review strategies for fostering workplace relationships; and more. Proposal Development Workshop with Candid

Sept. 27, 2023

10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Lakeland Community College

Join Dave Holmes from Candid for a two-part training in writing a grant to a private funder. Come for both morning and afternoon if you are new to grant writing or are looking for a refresher.

Lending their expertise to the workshop, we will be joined by:

Andrew Katusin, Program Officer, Cleveland Foundation

Indigo Bishop, Program Officer, St. Luke’s Foundation of Cleveland

Matt Carter, Senior Advisor, Grants Plus

The morning: Learn the basics of putting an effective grant proposal together. Understand the basic outline of a typical proposal; learn the importance of the need, program description and budget; and get answers to your questions about structure and connecting to a potential funder.

Lunch break: Lunch is provided for full day attendees.

The afternoon: Experienced grant writers are invited to join the afternoon session of this workshop. Bring a proposal with you—and your toughest questions! Learn about refining your grant proposal for specific funders; hear from a panel of funding experts and grant makers who will offer insights and suggestions; and get a chance to get peer and expert feedback in a small group session.
