The Lakeland golf team has qualified two individuals for the NJCAA Division II Championship Golf Tournament.
Sophomores Victor Prokop and Steve Dolan (second time qualifying) made the cut May 16 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Nationals will be held May 23-26 at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona.
During the qualifying tournament, Prokop shot scores of 72, 75 and 76. Dolan recorded scores of 78, 74 and 77.
"This is the first time the golf team has qualified at least two individuals under head coach Bobby Cala and the first time since at least before 2000," said Scott Barlow, director for athletics at Lakeland. "We wish both of these fine young men the best of luck at nationals."

Last year he was named Player of the Year for the North Coach Junior Tournament, and shot a 68 at Shaker Heights Country Club. He was named to the dean's list for fall 2016. Prokop plans to transfer Lakeland credits to The Ohio State University in the fall and pursue professional golf management.
