Lakeland Community College will host a free information session where students and community members are invited to learn about careers in real estate directly from local real estate professionals. The session will be held in person Thursday, Sept. 22, from 5:30-7 p.m. on the college’s main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, 44094, in the T-Building atrium.
The evening will start with a meet and greet with representatives from area real estate companies who will answer questions about getting licensed, salary expectations, and what it takes to be successful in the field. Participants include representatives of Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realty; Howard Hanna Real Estate Services; Keller Williams Greater Cleveland, NE; and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of real estate brokers and sales agents is expected to see continued growth through 2031. “Given the projected growth, we decided to provide an opportunity for anyone interested in real estate to learn from local professionals in the field,” said Lakeland’s real estate program department chair, Connie Golden.
Students of Lakeland’s two real estate-related certificate offerings are eligible to receive grant funds from The Ohio Department of Education Short-Term Certificate Grant Program. This grant is targeted to meet the in-demand needs of Ohio-based businesses and industries. It can support students in obtaining a certificate that can be completed in less than one year. Registration for guests is recommended, but not required. To register or to join the list of real estate professionals at the event, visit lakelandcc.edu/realestate or call Connie Golden at 440.525.7340.
