Posted: June 1, 2021

Lakeland is offering a free prep course, "QuickStart to College," to assist adults ages 25 or older who are thinking about starting college this fall. Registration is currently open for a limited number of spots.

The six-week "QuickStart to College," program begins June 22 and is specifically intended for adults to refresh their math skills with the goal of earning a higher score on the college placement exam. The program will also show students how to be successful in taking an online class, as well as identify career interests. Participants will also learn how to navigate Lakeland's admissions and financial aid processes.

The program's tuition and books will be waived for participants. Those needing technology assistance may borrow a Chromebook laptop computer for the duration of the program.

The program is open to adults who currently hold a high school or GED diploma.
