Posted: October 7, 2019 | Updated: October 8, 2019

As a stop on its national tour, the C-SPAN Bus will come to Lakeland Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 9:45–11:30 a.m., in the H-Building, central parking lot.

The bus is a part of a seven-week tour of 10 states, including some battleground states that will play a pivotal role in the 2020 presidential election. The bus will travel to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. The tour ends Oct. 18 in New Hampshire, which holds the first primary election in the country.

Students can be a part of the "Voices from the Road" program in which they can go on camera to ask questions or present concerns they want candidates to address. Those "voices" may be tweeted out by CSPAN or used on national TV.

Faculty and staff are also encouraged to visit the tour bus.

The C-SPAN bus is an interactive, multimedia mobile classroom that travels the country to engage with community members, showcasing C-SPAN's public affairs programming and resources.

Regionally, the bus is also slated to stop by Cleveland State University and Ashtabula High School.
