Become a Student Leader!
If you're interested in running for an officer position in either Lakeland Student Government (LSG) or Campus Activities Board (CAB), application packets are available in Student Activities (S-237). Completed applications are due by Thurs., November 12.

Eligibility Requirements: To run for LSG or CAB, a student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the semester prior to election and have a 2.3 cumulative grade point average. Additional requirements include securing valid student signatures on a petition and providing a biography and photo which will be displayed on myLakeland under Student Leader Elections.

Looking for a new job or career?
Lakeland Community College is hosting its fourth annual community Career Expo on Weds., November 11 from 10am-2pm in the Athletic & Fitness Center. Lakeland students and community members are invited to attend this free job fair.

On Oct. 20, the English Dept. hosted a Writing Carnival in the Student Center Atrium. As part of the carnival, students were given the opportunity to participate in the following writing contests:

Get paid to make phone calls!
The Lakeland Foundation is seeking motivated, enthusiastic and reliable student workers to contact our alumni, to ask for their financial support of Lakeland Community College.

Interested students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and who plan to enroll in at least six credit hours for spring semester 2010 should apply in C-2088 as soon as possible. Opportunities are limited.

Project Roscoe
Lakeland's Perioperative Education Dept. is sponsoring "Project Roscoe" throughout the month of November. "Project Roscoe" collection boxes will be placed around campus in the A and H Buildings and other key locations to collect for the Lake County Humane Society and other local shelters. Pet supplies needed include dry food for dogs and cats, clay-style kitty litter, kitty & puppy milk replacement, towels, blankets, trash bags, washable toys, dish soap, and paper towels.

CSU/LCC Partnership Spring Registration
Attention Partnership Students!
If you are registering for Spring 2010 courses at BOTH CSU and LCC and are receiving financial aid through CSU, you must fill out and sign a CSU Partnership Consortium Agreement Form. The Spring 2010 Financial Aid Consortium Agreement Form is due NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2009!

Click the link below to print out a copy of the CSU Partnership Consortium Agreement Form. Fill out Sections I & II. You must attach a copy of your Spring 2010 semester schedules from both LCC and CSU. Take the completed form to Lakeland's Financial Aid office and they will fill out Section III.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Beatrice A. Hammett-Parker
Bea is currently president of a student dance club called Thousand Shoes Skat. The club is currently working on a Christmas play called "A True Christmas Story Told Through Dance," scheduled to be performed on Tues., December 1st at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center.

In addition to being president of Thousand Shoes Skat, Bea is also a substitute dance teacher, a caterer for Breakers Dining Hall and Mooreland Mansion, and teaches a non-credit hip-hop class at Lakeland.

During her spare time, you will find Bea serving as Artistic Director of her non-profit organization, Southern Enterprise School of Arts, where she teaches both children and adults about the arts. She then takes them around the Cleveland area to perform and display their talents on stage.

Finally, Bea is a straight A student at Lakeland!
